Bosch Cordless mini-saw with NanoBlade technology.

After 5 years of research and development, Bosch Home and Garden introduce the new EasyCut 12. This is the world’s first cordless mini saw of its kind. The highly innovative product has been shortlisted for the RHS product of the year.

The EasyCut 12 is unique due to the Nano blade technology; the world’s first saw blade with a Micro chain with 44 teeth for a 65mm cutting depth, the blade alone as over 40 patents!

The Nano blades come lubricated so you don’t have to worry as the Nano blades are 100% maintenance free. This save time, so you are free to perform multi-functional sawing such as plunge cuts and free hand cuts, as well as sawing in 2 directions. The versatile functionality of the Easycut 12 allows cutting both indoors & outdoors such as in the Garden for tasks such as effortless pruning of trees and bushes.

Additionally, the EasyCut 12 is easy to use because the innovative Nano Blade technology ensures vibration free sawing! So you can be assured that the Easycut 12 will give you superior control and high levels of precision when cutting, this especially for when a straight cut is needed. Also, equipped with Bosch SDS, enables you to change the Nano blade without the need for additional tools such as bolts and Allen keys!

Equipped with Lithium-ion technology, you can be confident for no memory effect and no self-discharge. Its low weight of just 900 grams, and its’ outstanding ergonomic design ensures sawing is effortless for working with wood and plastic. The 12 V battery gives you maximum freedom of movement and enables you to achieve high precision at all times when working in the garden or when performing demanding applications. Complex projects are also no problem with the EasyCut 12 because its battery offers more runtime per battery charge thanks to the Bosch Syneon Chip. Thanks to the Syneon Chip, the Easycut 12 always provides optimum power and maximum endurance in demanding tasks such as when sawing dense wood.

The Easycut 12 is the latest member of our 12 Volt power for ALL family, which has wide range of products to suit your DIY and Garden needs from drills, sanders, to grass trimmers. This means that you can grow your existing tool collection by buying baretools. You can use your 12V battery from the Easycut 12 on a range of 12V Bosch home and garden tools which can save you money.

egoThe most powerful and fastest recharging battery powered range of garden products in the world, that goes head-to-head with petrol for performance, is launched under the EGO brand on stand 19/D56 at Glee 2014.

With a promise that they are as powerful as petrol equivalents but without the noise, fuss or fumes, EGO unveils its 56-volt lithium-ion battery powered lawnmower, hedge cutter, line trimmer, chain saw and blower, taking cordless technology to a new, higher level.

In less than six months sales in the United States have established EGO as one of the fastest selling cordless garden product brands in the country and now the 56-volt lithium ion ego cordless lawnmowerpowered range will be available in the UK.  EGO is ideal for all UK garden conditions, regardless of size, location and weather.

The EGO range delivers the most powerful cordless range of garden equipment.  The 4.0Ah battery, when used with the lawnmower, has an average operating time of 45 minutes, enough time to cover 800m2, and is fully recharged from empty in just 30 minutes.  With two batteries – one in use and the other on charge – EGO offers limitless and effortless gardening.  The same battery and charger powers all the products in the entire EGO range.

Running costs are approximately one tenth of that for petrol powered equivalents.  This factor, plus reduced noise, vibration and a total absence of operating emissions is a compelling environmental argument in favour of EGO.

“We describe EGO as ‘Power Beyond Belief’ and it really does have to be experienced to fully appreciate what we are saying,” says EGO Europe’s Marketing Director, Steve Roskell.  “This is a direct challenge to petrol, electric and existing cordless garden products.  We have re written the powered garden products rule book.

“It is the first ever range of cordless outdoor powered equipment capable of matching or surpassing the performance of petrol powered machines without any of the noise, fuss or fumes.   EGO products are powerful, quiet and easy to use,” adds Steve.

The lawnmower is sold complete with battery and charger whilst the other products in the range are sold without them (although they can be purchased separately) which means really attractive retail prices.

EGO dealers will be offered full technical training in addition to full support.

Husqvarna’s Connected Outdoor Products

husqvarnaThe landscaping business is about to become connected. Utilising sensors on outdoor power products, landscaping businesses and their landscaping teams will get improved control of up-time, machine handling, and vibration reports, all in the name of safer and more productive landscaping operations. Starting in August, a beta period of Husqvarna’s new innovative solution kicks off in seven countries.

Say farewell to guestimates and unexpected downtime in the landscaping business. Husqvarna, part of Husqvarna Group, the world’s largest producer of outdoor power products, introduces Husqvarna Fleet Services, a cloud-based service that connects the machine-fleet and the landscaping teams directly to an on-line portal, enabling landscaping businesses to get substantially improved business insight of their operations, right at their fingertips.

husqvarna 1By mounting a small wireless machine sensor (data collector) to each piece of the outdoor power equipment, it becomes possible to optimise the use of equipment in the business. Whenever the product is in use, data on engine-on time, engine r.p.m. distribution, temperature, operator ID’s and more is collected wirelessly and uploaded onto an online portal. The data enables managers to determine operator’s exposure to vibrations, the need for service on the equipment, optimisation possibilities and more. The information can be accessed via a computer and a mobile application.

“New technologies such as cloud-based M2M solutions have made it possible for Husqvarna to develop a unique solution that allows modern landscaping businesses to go from estimates to facts. The data enables maximum performance and profitability of business operations, as well as learning more about employee wellbeing in the process,” says Håkan Wahlgren, project manager at Husqvarna Group.

husqvarna 2Following a productive pilot period, Husqvarna Fleet Services is now ready to go into Beta mode, which will start in August. During the Beta phase Husqvarna will monitor system performance, support procedures and also measure the perceived value from the different cloud-based services.

At present, landscaping businesses in seven countries (Australia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, and UK) are participating in the on-going pilot. The majority of those landscaping businesses will also participate in the open Beta phase, which starts in August.

The machine sensor is designed for Husqvarna Commercial Lawn and Garden products such as ride-on mowers, walk-behind mowers, and the handheld commercial range with trimmers, backpack blowers, hedge-trimmers, and chainsaws and is in the final development stage for Husqvarna’s new Pro Battery machines.

husqvarna 3Imagine that the sensor on the ride-on front mower sends the fleet manager a message that it needs a service 25 hours ahead. The same message can also be sent to the closest Husqvarna-dealer, giving them a heads-up if spare parts need to be ordered or if it is necessary to book time for a service. Not only would you be able to book a service, but also plan your maintenance, maximising uptime, enabling a proactive maintenance strategy.

The sensor platform for Husqvarna Fleet Services consists of a machine sensor for each machine, an optional Operator card (OpTag) and a Base station to transmit the data to the cloud. All collected data is then accessed via an online portal or a mobile application.

The data about the machines usage and operator status is processed from each machine and sorted into four main categories:

1. Workday log – gives a quick answer to how productive the company really is, visualising how much the whole fleet, or individual machines, are being used. With that information, it becomes clear if the fleet needs to be expanded or not.

2. Interactive maintenance system – keeps track of all machines and alerts both the service manager and Husqvarna dealer before maintenance intervals. Each machine family has a dedicated maintenance program leading to maximum up-time, safer machines, prolonged machine life and better control.

3. Machine handling – allows managers and operators to understand whether the individual products in the fleet are used in an optimal way. Improved machine handling can prolong product life, improve productivity, and reduce fuel consumption and more.

4. Vibration reports – focuses solely on operators. Though Husqvarna constantly strives to minimise vibration, all power tools generate a certain level of movement. The vibration report gives an indication of how much each employee has been subjected to, in reference to applicable EU standards and gives invaluable tools for both management and the operators to become proactive.

5. Library – consists of operator manuals, workshop manuals, parts lists, machine handling movies and tutorials.
